Scott Eggenton has been studying Aikido for the past 12 years in Melbourne under the auspices of Shihan Sugano and currently holds a shodan (first degree black belt) awarded by Shihan Sugano in 2000. He has additionally completed several certificate courses including Shiatsu massage, Kenisiology TH1, Security (guarding), Vicfit, Senior First Aid and Small Business Management.

Scott Eggenton began teaching Aikido as an instructor for Aiki Kai Australia at the Victorian Hombu (headquarters) Dojo in 2004. During this time he developed a successful childrens` program which now continues to run at the Heidelberg Dojo which he established in 2005 after completing the National Coaching Accreditation Level 1 Course (NCAS1) Sport Specific, Aikido.

Scott began training martial arts in the form of freestyle kickboxing in 1998 and after 12 months moved on to Mauy Thai. Following this he undertook 6 months of personal instruction from a former New Zealand S.A.S. commando in unarmed combat. As his training progressed his interest was furthered in the deeper meanings of martical arts eventually leading him to the study of Aikido.

After being informed that some of the best Aikido was being performed in Australia, Scott left his home town of Masterton, New Zealand and moved to Melbourne, devoting his life to developing a deeper understanding of Aikido, its teachings, techniques and its philosophy.

In 2005 Scott initiated a second dojo at Melbourne Grammer School (MGS). He currently teaches  3 classes at the MGS dojo and 5 classes at the Heidelberg dojo.
